Holi

Image
Holi is an ancient festival of India and was originally known as 'Holika'. The festivals finds a detailed description in early religious works such as Jaimini's Purvamimamsa-Sutras and Kathaka-Grhya-Sutras. Historians also believe that Holi was celebrated by all Aryans but more so in the Eastern part of India. It is said that Holi existed several centuries before Christ. However, the meaning of the festival is believed to have changed over the years. Earlier it was a special rite performed by married women for the happiness and well-being of their families and the full moon (Raka) was worshiped. There are two ways of reckoning a lunar month- 'purnimanta' and 'amanta'. In the former, the first day starts after the full moon; and in the latter, after the new moon. Though the amanta reckoning is more common now, the purnimanta was very much in vogue in the earlier days. According to this purnimanta reckoning, Phalguna purnima was the last day of the y...

How to Positive Think in live Life

1. Negativity doesn’t work – Literally – Our  subconscious  brain can’t handle it. The other thing about negativity is that  our brains can’t process negative words  according to the latest studies. So when we hear phrase like “don’t smoke” or “don’t touch that,” our subconscious skips over these negative words and simply hears “smoke” or “touch that.” Our  conscious  mind can obviously process these words, but it’s  the subconscious that makes a lot of our decisions  without us realizing. For young children, this can often be an issue because they haven’t learned to use their conscious minds to process those negative words and take control of the subconscious to make sure they follow instructions correctly. It’s no surprise why children decide that way if you look at the split between conscious and subconscious mind according to psychology : What this means for us is that we struggle to change our habits or thought patterns when we...

Weed is injurious to human life

1. It can damage blood vessels Secondhand smoke may not seem all that bad. But it can have a major impact on your blood vessels, according to  research  from india. After rats inhaled secondhand smoke for one minute, their arteries carried blood less efficiently for at least 90 minutes. When they were exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, however, their blood vessels recovered after 30 minutes. “While the effect is temporary for both cigarette and marijuana smoke, these temporary problems can turn into long-term problems if exposures occur often enough and may increase the chances of developing hardened and clogged arteries,” said study author Vishva satyam. 2. It may increase testicular cancer risk Smoking weed may increase your odds of getting testicular cancer, researchers at the University of Southern California found. In the  study , men who had testicular germ cell tumors were more likely to report previously using marijuana than those who didn’t have the...

“I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” VISHVA SATYAM ,  It is true that optimists, or positive thinkers, are at an advantage in life compared to pessimists. This is because of the effect your mindset and attitude have on everything we come across. Our social relationships, our job and also our health are an integral part of  our daily life  and we can feel how negative and positive thoughts can have a domino effect on everything we do during the day. The way we choose to think, positive or negative, has a great impact on the final outcome and is mirrored in everything we do. Hence the importance of having a balanced outlook on life.
